LONDON NEEDS A MAYOR FOR RENTERS
Today, with 100 days to the London Mayoral election, we have launched www.votehomes2016.com, as the place to go if you want to know who is promising what to fix the city's housing crisis.
With support from our friends at Renters Rights London and PricedOut, Vote Homes 2016 lets you compare what the candidates are doing to build affordable homes, strengthen regulation of landlords and improve the experience for renters in London.
We've used a traffic light system to show where candidates' plans will do nothing, where they are on the right lines and where they have got a really good policy. We're a non-partisan organisation so we are using a strict set of criteria to score the candidates objectively.
We want to make sure candidates are listening to renters, so we have set up a few template emails you can send them. We will be updating the Policies section and our campaigns as we get closer to polling day. Please get in touch with feedback on [email protected].
The Evening Standard has reported on the launch today, along with our analysis of the latest rent affordability stats. There is nowhere in London where starting a family is affordable for the typical couple.
