London Renters' Hustings

With private renting now the biggest tenure in London, housing is the number one issue at this year’s Mayoral Election.

But there is just one opportunity for the candidates to debate their plans to fix the housing crisis head-to-head, and take questions from ordinary renters.

Generation Rent, PricedOut and Renters' Rights London are organising a hustings for the five main parties’ candidates on 29 March at Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, WC1R 4RL, 6.30-8.30pm.

We have Mayoral candidates Sian Berry (Greens) and Peter Whittle (UKIP) confirmed, while the Conservative, Labour and Lib Dems are sending along candidates for the Assembly: Joy Morrissey, Tom Copley and Zack Polanski respectively.

We’ll be getting their views on everything from rent controls and building new homes to regulating landlords and paying for it all. The debate will be chaired by Jim Waterson of Buzzfeed.

Register to attend below. If you can’t make it, Londonist.com will host a video of the event afterwards.
